| Dear Lilly, |
|
| I have five kittens that I have found and have nursed back to health. I already have two cats and my husband does want any more cats. And now, that they are healthy, I need to find them homes, it just doesn't seem like anyone wants them. They are the cutest and most affectionate kittens. I wish I could keep them. I dont know what to do. I dont want to take them to the shelter, after I have saved them. I am really worried and I am running out of time. Please, help. |

What area do you live in? There might be organizations that will help, and if you're willing to foster them, that will help the organization try to place them for you. If you're local to the Washington DC area, contact Animal Allies to see if they can do this arrangement for you. If not, try your local Humane Society - explain your situation and stress that you're willing to foster them, and ask for help.
Best of luck! |

| Adoption fees vary - you might want to contact Animal Allies about a specific kitten you're interested in. |

| Looking for some help. A large colony of cats are on my husbands grandmothers farm. She has passed and we need help trapping and returning. Some have spoken of bringing them to a kill shelter and even about ways of getting rid of them the old fashioned way....I do not even want to think what that might be. I have 10 rescued dogs and helping a horse rescue with 15 horses. Please if there is anyone that can help me help these cats and kittens please contact me. there are approx. 45 cats. |

Hi Lori,
I would recommend contacting your local Humane Society for help - there may be an organization near by that could trap and relocate (and most importantly, spay) these cats. |

| I am fostering a beautiful calico and her georgeous 4 little kittens, under the umbrella of Animal Allies. I want to find them good homes (in about 6 weeks when they're weened). I have pictures of them that I think would make any cat lover swoon. Is there a place I can post them now in hopes of a future loving home? |

| Dear Lilly, |

We adopted Cheddar and Colby a few months ago. They are such loving babies and we are so fortunate to have them in our lives. They have provided so much love to us.
Judy mentioned that she Animal Allies has a newsletter in which Colby and Cheddar may be mentioned.
Where do we get a copy of the newsletter? Is it online? |

| I adopted Ruth Ann (now Missy) last Dec. She is a real joy and loves to play. I wonder if I could adopt a companion for her - female, domestic short-hair or has she been an " only cat" too long? If it is a good idea, should I adopt a kitten or older cat for this energetic fur ball? |

No, that's not too long for her to have a companion kitty - and I'm sure she'll love the company (once they get used to each other). I'd recommend adopting a playmate that's around the same age as Missy.
Take care! |

| My Cat ran away this morning. We have put up posters and asked around but no one has seen him. I know it's only been one day, but I'm afraid he'll never come back! Help! |

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope she comes home safe and sound and soon. Make sure to check with the local animal shelter, animal control, and rescue groups. If he's chipped, make sure that your information is correct with the chip company. As a last resort, check with Petfinder.com or even Craigslist for found kitties.
Best of luck and I hope he comes home soon! |

| My family and I just got 2 new kittens. They started being able to roam the house a few days ago. I also have another older cat named Lucy. Right now we have Lucy's food in the bathroom because of some remodeling. The kittens have access to the bathroom and to where Lucy's kitty litter is because if we close the door Lucy has no way to get to her things. The kittens have been eating Lucy's food and using her litter box. This has been making Lucy mad and even more annoyed than she already is. How can we stop the kitties from using her things while still giving her a way to get to them? |

| DearLydia Peterson, |

You might want to put a child gate up - one too high for the kittens, but high enough for Lucy to get to. And since you have more kitties in the house, it might be a good idea to get more liter boxes so everyone has their own.
Best of luck! |

There are a number of local pet rescue groups that do adoption shows at pet stores like PetSmart and Petco who I'm sure would love to have your help in volunteering. See if your parents will take you to one of these stores and ask about what groups do adoption fairs there, then contact those groups to see if they have any volunteer openings. It's good to be an animal lover!
Take care! |

| Dear Lilly, |

| I live in NH and the temps have dropped to -15dig(F) the past couple of nights. There is a neighbor that keeps his dog outdoors most of the time. This poor dog has spend these freezing nights without shelter, other than digging into the snow. I saw him this AM half burried in the snow it was -11dig. The owners are a nice couple but feel that there is no merit to my arguement to bring the dog indoors, at least overnight. In your opinion, is this cruelty? Any option available to me? I offered to take him into my home at night but they feel it would take away from the dogs ability to weather the winter. Maybe I am over reacting as the animal seems ok. |

George |
| DearGeorge, |

This is a really tough situation - what your neighbor is doing is wrong and cruel, but it seems like they don't care. I'd talk to them about it and see if they'd be willing to bring the dog in when it gets cold. If not, ask them if they'd be willing to give the dog up since they don't seem too interested in taking care of him/her. You may also want to talk to animal control, but be prepared to step up to adopt the dog if they get involved - assuming they can legally do anything (or will, for that matter).
Best of luck to you and the poor dog. :( |
